Our mission
Two outcomes, one engine
Starbridge creates livelihoods by creating schools that students choose to attend.
Returned missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gain ownership and income. Students gain affordable English, digital skills, and connectivity. One outcome depends on the other.
A mission gives a young person leadership, discipline, and two years of teaching people one at a time — and then, too often, returns them to an economy with no room for any of it. Starbridge helps them build and own an English and digital-skills academy in their own community.
The two outcomes are inseparable: an academy can sustain its founder only if it delivers education that students and families value. Nobody enrolls out of charity, and nobody stays if the teaching is poor. That is the discipline the model runs on, and it is why we don’t have to say which half of the mission comes first.
The Foundation believes intelligence and potential are universal; access to English, digital literacy, structured learning, and reliable connectivity is not. Our academies serve youth and adults in the communities where that gap is widest.
Why now
Satellite internet works
Connectivity has crossed the reliability threshold. Any city can now be online.
The payoff for these skills went up
The tools now reorganizing how work gets done — search, software, AI itself — are operated in English, by people comfortable on a computer. Whatever the next ten years look like, they favor the person who has both.
AI makes practice affordable
AI tutoring tools give every student unlimited practice at a cost communities can actually afford — with human teachers always leading the classroom.
What we measure
The pilot is underway. We hold ourselves to clear measures: enrollment and retention, English proficiency gains, digital-skills certification, local jobs created at the academy, and each academy’s financial self-sufficiency. We will publish results as the pilot matures.
We’d rather publish a small real number than a large vague one. Everything on this site that looks like a fact is one; where we don’t have data yet, we say so.
Who we are
The Foundation stewards the model, curriculum, and brand; founders own and operate their academies.
